morning, beauty, autumn, garden, excitement, being, praise

The beauty of this morning overwhelms me. The full moon was just gorgeous last night. The crisp air of the October days is just awesome. This is a great season of the year and causes me to sing the song “Morning Has Broken”.

Morning has broken, like the first morning

Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.

Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!

Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.

Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from Heaven,

Like the first dewfall on the first grass.

Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden

Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning.

Born of the one light Eden saw play.

Praise with elation, praise every morning.

God’s recreation of the new day!

Well, in the garden, there is one last batch of wax beans to pick, along with some green peppers, and watermelon. Then, it is ready to compost for the winter.

Ah, it is wonderful to be alive today and share in all this excitement of being!

* IDENTITY THEFT

identity theft, preparation, red flag rule, industries,FACTA, breaches, suits

Yes, identity theft can be frightening. This is true. Stand up to this crime and learn more about it.

Walk right into the unknown and the fear of it.

Being a retired bank president, when I had heard the term “identity theft”, I immediately thought of financial breaches. Now that I am much more educated in this identity theft field, I must communicate to you that financial theft is the smallest of the whole. Here is the entire “pie” of identity theft breaches. In elementary terms, here is the circle of what has been stolen to-date: 100%. Within this circle, only 23% is financial theft. That is the smallest part of the pie——— 23%.

So, you say ………. what? What encompasses the rest?

Well, over the next few days, let’s talk about that. Let’s talk about how your identity can be stolen and how this can affect the rest of your life………..and, also that of your company. Should we own a small business, we each represent our respective businesses. This is vital information that under federal regulations now, we each must be aware. In light of the increasing number of data security breaches, the government has stepped in.

Congress recently amended the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) with a set of conditions called the Red Flag Rule. According to the rule, a business that maintains a credit-based relationship with its customers must have a written information security plan that outlines what it is doing to protect customer records from theft. Effective this year, this Red Flag Rule came into play. Businesses that are not compliant are open to the possibility of class-action lawsuits if its customer data are stolen, and are also subject to fines and penalties.

All businesses are affected. However, the rule specifically calls out five industries: automotive, financial, health care, insurance, and mortgage. If you are a customer of businesses in these areas, you should ask them to explain what plans they have in place to protect your sensitive customer information in compliance with the Red Flag Rule.

Tomorrow, we will return to the PIE to learn more about personal identity theft breaches.

It is up to each of us know about this crime. It is not “If” it is going to happen to you. It is “When”. You must be prepared.

identity theft, blessing, crime, unknown, crisis, control, mission, legal

218 million. That is right — 218 million.

Imagine that in dollars. Imagine that in thefts. Both are phenomenal numbers to comprehend.

Now, just imagine you being one of the 218 million within the last year that has experienced a theft of identity. Last night, being with a group of people, many did not realize the horror of this crime. If I may, let me review some of our discussions about identity theft.

Let’s talk about the definition of identity. Webster’s dictionary says: identity is “to cause to be identical; to conceive as united; to be or become the same; sameness in all that constitutes the objective reality of a thing.” That “thing” is YOU.

What I try to impress on everyone is that we are talking about you and your future. Even though we each work and focus daily on our professions and our future, these can be literally wiped out by three tragedies:

a medical crisis

a legal suit, or

an identity theft

Over any of these, each of us has minimal control. I am not a doctor nor a lawyer. I am, however, an identity theft consultant, and this cancer (identity theft) is spreading across the country. This crime is one of which you should be educated…….now.

Just think about the person you saw while you were filling up your gasoline tank this morning. That person is an individual who probably is a business person and has a schedule every day of what he has to accomplish at home, at the office, and for the community. Do you have control over his energies today? Do you? Does he has control over yours? Of course not. You do not have control over his schedule nor his actions. Nor should you. You are happy to have control over yours, right ?! Well, why do people think they have control over someone who is out to steal their identities? You don’t. You have no control.

This is my mission ……. to educate and guide people in reference to this fastest growing crime. We live through different chapters of our lives, and God prepares us for each one. The older I get, the more I see His hand has been on each page of each chapter of my life…………and grooming me for the next. How blessed I am to be a child of God.

faith, enlighten, lesson, opportunities, God knows, believe in Him

Every day brings a new opportunity to learn and give. All we have to do is open our hearts and minds to absorb what is being taught.

When thinking about what lesson we would learn today on this blog, I received an electronic message from my friend, John, who enlightened me through insight from Max Lucado. It touched me so much that it is being shared with you for the “lesson of the day”.

God knows exactly what our needs are for this day and is so good to provide for us. Let us all have faith and be certain of what we do not see — believing in Him.

from Max Lucado:

FAITH is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1.

Faith is trusting what the eye can’t see.

Eyes see the prowling lion. Faith sees Daniel’s angel.

Eyes see storms. Faith sees Noah’s rainbow.

Your eyes see your faults. Your faith sees your Savior.

Your eyes see your guilt. Your faith sees his blood.

So, you see, God knows exactly what our needs are for this day and is so good to provide for us. Let us all have faith and be certain of what we do not see — believing in Him…….Blessings ! Georgia

beautiful Savior, choir, harmony, celebration, praise, adoration, anthems

Thursday night is a “high” for me, for that is when the choir meets for 1.5 hour to prepare for the next few weeks’ anthems. It is phenomenal to see and hear the end results of a musician’s work in putting all the notes and words together in order to develop various musical presentations.

With the piano and the vocal cords coming together in harmony, sometimes adjectives can not describe the beauty.

The words of one of the anthems, “Beautiful Savior”, were written in 1677 and translated in 1873 when put to music. Does that not blow your mind? It is gently flowing with all four vocal families taking part in this phenomenal piece of music. The music and the words flow so well and minister to all. Let’s share the story:

Beautiful Savior! King of creation!

Son of God and Son of Man!

Truly I’d love Thee, Truly I’d serve Thee,

Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.

Fair are the meadows,

Fair are the woodlands,

Robed in flow’rs of blooming spring.

Jesus is fairer, Jesus if purer.

He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.

Fair is the sunshine,

Fair is the moonlight.

Bright the sparkling stars on high.

Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer

Than all the angels in the sky.

Beautiful Savior! Lord of the nations!

Son of God and Son of man!

Glory and honor,

Praise, adoration, now, and forever more be Thine.

Glory and honor,

Praise, adoration now and forever more be Thine!

Are the words not beautiful in themselves? What more can I say?

Praise be to God.

That is what happened yesterday. I was on a roll marking off my “to do” list and feeling so accomplished, and then, a call came in which changed the entire rest of the day. Some things just did not get accompliahed. They will have to wait until today.

In my “old age”, I have learned that “first things come first”, and for whatever reason, that is what I am supposed to have done today, even though that particular energy was not on my schedule. God does have His own timing and knows what is to be accomplished when ….. so that the next item can be accomplished according to the time He has given to it.

Yes, family is a gift and is truly a blessing. We learn from every one in our family. We are taught something new each day. That is one of the reasons we are placed in our respective families — to give and receive.

AND, we must have our hand open to give in order to be able to receive.

If He brings you to it, He will bring you

through it. That is correct. This last month

has been one of growth and challenge. We each

have experienced those whether it be illnesses,

financial or personal challenges, keeping up

with every day house and life operations…………

whatever the matter, we all have faced those

mountains. Climbing the mountain is like

reading a chapter is a “how to it” book; however,

this is much more intense because we are

living it and learning all the way. What a blessing

to have Jesus right there with us while cilmbing

that mountain. What a gift. He is teacing us and

preparing us for the next chapter. When He

brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

God is wonderful in giving us these gifts, so many gifts that we take for granted: life itself, health, shelter, and actually all of our daily needs. In fact, the last phrase stated was my Dad’s daily prayer. He felt it so deeply that we should thank God daily for all of those foundation gifts. We take them so much for granted, don’t we? This is the last Thursday in the month of July 2009 in history. It is here only once in a lifetime, and we will make the best use of each minute given !
